Our AR-Enhanced Digital Book Launch at Çatalhöyük

On 28 August 2025, during the IV. Publishing Summer School in Konya, we had the privilege of presenting a very special project. As Kubulab, we launched “Dolunay and Benekli: Çatalhöyük”, our augmented reality–enhanced digital book designed to introduce children to cultural heritage through immersive storytelling.
This journey began in 2024 with the support of the Social Innovation Agency. Following an intensive development process carried out with our partners, we created an interactive book that brings the daily life of Çatalhöyük into the present day. Specially designed for children, this digital book aims to make cultural heritage accessible at an early age by offering both fun and educational experiences.
Throughout the process, we embraced a participatory design approach, collaborating with children, teachers, museum experts, and technology developers. From the prototype phase to the final product, these collaborations ensured that the book rests on a solid foundation in terms of both content and user experience.
During the launch event, live demonstrations were held, and participants experienced the story of Çatalhöyük through augmented reality on their mobile devices. This hands-on experience not only made history more engaging for children but also highlighted the potential of gamified learning.
Our application is now available on the App Store and Google Play. We believe this project will serve as an inspiring tool for children, blending cultural heritage with innovative technology.
